Custom Carpentry
Whether you have distinct taste, or a unique space that needs a custom designed piece
will help you get anything .
For this element of the project my client choose to go with Natural Cedar Shakes, from Schwan Cedar in Pembroke Ontario, rather than a manufactured option from James Hardie Board.
To start off the process you have a double layer of shingles, while making sure than seams don’t overlap. Every course has a 5” exposure and there is the option to do custom designs within the shingle pattern if desired.

“I think it turned out really nice and I’m looking forward to doing more in the future.” - Stephen Snaith

Using exterior grade plywood with a paper layer we ripped them into 12” boards and used finger joint pines as battens. We then gave them two coats of primer to prep for the final colour.
